Here we are, back on Alamo St!
We met the seller of this Alamo property at a previous Open House, and boy, did he walk into the perfect Open House! He was hoping for someone to purchase his First Ward lot with two historic Craftsman homes on it. Both of the homes were built by his great-grandfather – J.J Settegast (yes! that Settegast family), and the property had been in his family for 4 generations! It was very important to him that both of these houses would not be torn down!
None of the seller’s family have lived in either of the two homes – they were built as rentals. We are in the midst of researching, and hoping to find out more info on previous tenants. The tenants that have just moved out (prior to us purchasing the homes) leased both homes for 49 years! We met many family members, and they shared with us their wonderful memories from the nearly 5 decades they lived here! We promised to have them back to visit when we complete the restoration!
We will subdivide the lot into two – each lot measuring just under 3300 sf. Each Respectfully Restored house will be 1,378 sf – the current sf plus a small addition (346 sf) in the rear. They will have 3 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a some green space for plants, pets or parties! More info to come!
Note : Subsequent to the replat process, 1507 Alamo (previous address, eastern half of the lot) has now been renamed 1505 Alamo
