Here we are, back on Alamo St!
We met the seller of 1507 and 1509 Alamo at one of our previous Open Houses, and boy, did he walk into the perfect Open House! He was hoping for a someone to purchase his 7000 sf lot that had two historic Craftsman homes on it. Both of the homes were built by the his great-grandfather – J.J Sattegast (yes! that Sattegast family), and the property had been in his family for 4 generations! It was very important that both of these houses would not be torn down!
None of the seller’s family have lived in either of the two homes – they were built as rentals. We are in the midst of researching, and hoping to find some info on previous tenants. The tenants that have just moved out (prior to us purchasing the homes) leased both homes for 49 years! We met many members of this family, and they shared with us their wonderful memories over the 5 decades they lived here! We have promised to have them back to visit when we complete the restoration!
We will subdivide the lot into two – each lot measuring about 3500 sf. Both houses will be Respectfully Restored and a small addition put on at the rear. Upon completion, each of the homes will be 3 bed / 2 bath homes with a small green space for plants, pets or parties! More info to come!
