Say hello to 1513 Ovid! Located on a block with all its historic homes intact, she is going to be another wonderful, restored historic home in the First Ward. We’re currently in the thick of things – restoring and adding-on – and getting her ready for her new family! Estimated completion is end of Q1, 2021.
The very original sf of the home is about 575 sf. Over the years, there have been a number of additions put on her – she was about 1,300 sf when we purchased the property. Since then, we have torn down all of the poorly built additions, and have begun rebuilding and putting on a new addition! At the end of the project, she will sit tall and proud at 1,750 sf with 4 beds and 2.5 baths, on a full sized 5,000 sf lot. There will also be a 2-car porte-cochere!
This old girl comes with original wood windows and solid wood doors in the original part of the home – which will get the Respectfully Restored treatment. There are also 2 front doors – which we will maintain – one door will now serve as entry into the home and the other door leads into a guest bedroom / office – handy if you work from home!
Bonus – the 1500 block of Ovid St is protected by a City of Houston Minimum Lot Size Ordinance that prevents the sub-division of lots!
