This early 1910s house is our first foray into the Near Northside neighborhood. It was a dainty 1,030 sf, but we have Respectfully-Added On, and she is now a 3 bed / 2 bath home, standing at 1,451 sf. Packed with historic charm and features, yet fit for 21st century living with a master en-suite and walk-in closet, large kitchen and plenty of storage throughout the house.
2207 Keene is located one block from the Metro Light Rail Quitman/Near Northside stop, making it convenient and accessible to many destinations! The house is also protected by a City of Houston Minimum Lot Size Ordinance that prevents the sub-division of the lots – this will keep townhome builders at bay, thus maintaining the neighborhood feel!
Work began in November 2015 and was completed in May 2016. The house has been sold to a newly married couple, who are now living their happily ever after!
*2207 Keene is a 2017 Good Brick Award winner. Presented annually by Preservation Houston, a non-profit organization founded in 1978 to preserve Houston’s local culture of diversity, invention, vitality and can-do spirit by celebrating and revitalizing our historic buildings, neighborhoods, and places.
Summer of 2021 – we returned to 2207 Keene to build a workshop for the homeowners, giving them more storage and space for their projects!
