The lot at 2209 Keene sat vacant for many years until we were contacted by the owner’s son. He told us his Dad had plans to build a house on the lot before passing away. We were restoring the house next door (2207 Keene), and that got our noggins thinking – maybe we would build a new “old” house there, just like the previous owner had wanted to do!
This 3 bed / 2 bath house is just shy of 1,600 sf, on a 5,000 sf corner lot. We made every effort to make her look and feel like an old house, on the exterior as well as on the inside, despite being brand new! And we think we achieved just that with the stained glass windows, solid wood bedroom doors, a restored cast iron sink in the guest bathroom and bay windows at the front of the home!
Located just one block from the Metro Light Rail Quitman / Near Northside stop – the 7th stop on MetroRail’s Red Line – jump on it every morning to get to your office Downtown, Museum District or in the Med Center…. or head to events at NRG Park.
The house is protected by a City of Houston Minimum Lot Size Ordinance that prevents the sub-division of neighboring lots!
