Hello Near Northside! — 307 Winnie St has been officially Respectfully Restored! It was such a blast working with the Castillo family, who are third generation Near Northsiders (wow!) – on their Craftsman home!

Built as a duplex, it had already been converted into a single family home when the Castillo’s bought the property as a young couple almost 20 years ago!  Now that they’ve grown into a family of four and with furbabies in tow, they needed a little more room to spread out, as well as a few modern, but period appropriate updates.

This project involved a down-to-the-studs restoration of the original home, and putting on a 339 sf addition at the rear of the house. Upon completion, the Castillo home is now a good-sized 1,779 sf with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on a 4,000 sf lot!

We were so excited and pleased that the Castillo family chose us as General Contractors for this project. It was a joy to play a role in the restoration and the sensitive addition of the home for this wonderful family! This team effort also includes our long-time Architect and together, everyone’s input and involvement throughout the design, planning and construction process was invaluable and a key factor to the house’s amazing transformation!
